Facilitated testing: what are the benefits?

Through our facilitated and custom analyses services, we offer a holistic testing experience by supplying you convenience, peace of mind, analytical solutions, regulatory, and food safety advice. If we do not do it in-house we will find a reputable lab that does.  Our multidisciplinary team can assist you with any type of request, whether it is regulatory-related, allergen-associated, analytical-based or centred on food fraud or food safety. In the pursuit of providing clients with an uncomplicated, holistic testing experience, we offer facilitated testing.

What is facilitated testing?

Sometimes, clients request analyses that we do not offer in-house. In these cases we outsource the testing to a trusted laboratory, and facilitate the process from start to finish on the client’s behalf.

What value-added services does the facilitated testing process include?

• Sourcing of appropriate laboratories for particular sample matrices, or to achieve specific objectives;
• Should we be unsuccessful in sourcing an appropriate laboratory, we may be able to assist via our Custom Analysis
• Coordinating multiple analyses (e.g. at different laboratories) and the sample distribution thereof;
• Interpretating test results in accordance with local and/or international regulations, or your own internal standards or specifications;
• Presenting results, background information and all interpretations in an easy-to-understand report.

What does it cost?

All facilitated analyses are charged as per the outsourced laboratory’s quotation. No mark-up is added to the testing costs. However, FACTS charges a once-off facilitation fee of R950 per quotation, to cover the value-added services listed above.

When can I expect results?

Lead times are analysis-dependent, but the process generally takes 10 to 14 working days, excluding the day the sample is received at the FACTS laboratory.
