Finding the DALRRD regulations
Finding the regulations you are looking for on the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD) could seem quite daunting.
We have listed the steps below to help you find the DALRRD regulations you are looking for.
- In your web browser, go to: dalrrd.gov.za
- Hover your curser over ‘Branches’ (in the panel on the left-hand side)
- Then hover over ‘Agricultural Production, Health & Food Safety’
- Lastly, click ‘Food Safety & Quality Assurance’
This will take you to the home page, where you will find the Agricultural Product Standards (APS) Act (right at the bottom) as well as other useful information, such as contact details for assignees and officials in various divisions.
To find regulations and dispensations, look at the light grey block near the top of the page, and click on ‘Local & Import Regulations’. A list of divisions will appear; click on the required division name to see all the documents available under that division.
In the light grey box near the top you will also see ‘Draft Legislation for Comments’, where you will find draft regulations open to be commented on.
To ensure compliance for your products, it is important not only to know where to find the relevant legislation, but also to use and understand the most recent regulations.
