Hygiena AquaSnap® Total Water ATP Test

AquaSnap® Total is a self-contained ATP test for rapid assessment of biological contamination in water and liquid samples. It is particularly useful for verifying the final rinse water from cleaning-in-place systems and for monitoring process water.

Analyte:

Total adenosine triphosphate (ATP)

Applicable Matrices:

CIP final rinse water, process water, cooling water and other liquid samples

Result:

Relative light units (RLUs)

More information about Hygiena AquaSnap® Total Water ATP Test

AquaSnap® Total is a rapid bioluminescence test that measures total ATP in water and liquid samples. Total ATP includes both microbial ATP from living cells and free ATP from non-microbial material or damaged cells. It therefore provides a broad indication of biological contamination and residual organic material in a liquid sample.

The device has a honey-dipper collection tip designed to collect a consistent 100 µL sample. Its self-contained, liquid-stable reagent is activated after sampling and the test is then read using a compatible Hygiena luminometer.

AquaSnap® Total can be used to check the final rinse water from a CIP cycle. The presence of ATP in final rinse water may indicate that the cleaning process has not adequately removed product residue from the system.

Results are available in approximately 15 seconds and are reported as RLUs. Site-specific limits should be established to distinguish acceptable from unacceptable results. AquaSnap® Total is not a microbiological count method and does not identify specific microorganisms or allergens.

*Detection capability depends on the compatible luminometer used.
